Profit-Based Fee

Rational Investors offers clients a choice of management fees:

First, an annual flat fee: 1% of account assets.  Alternatively, a performance-based fee: 10% of annual profits.  Clients selecting this option pay a lower management fee when returns are lower.  This “incentive” approach means we only profit to the degree that you do.

The profit-based fee is available only to “Qualified Clients”.  [The Securities and Exchange Commission defines Qualified Clients as a) those whose net worth is at least $2.1 million (exclusive of their equity in their primary residence and net of any debt secured by that residence taken out in the last 60 days except for purchasing the residence), or b) clients who have at least $1 million with the investment manager.]
